Remit To provide quality nursing care for all patients with haematological conditions from diagnosis through treatments and recovery or palliative and end of life care. 
Type of clients Male and females aged 16 and over from across NHS Tayside with malignant and non malignant haematology conditions 
Key learning opportunities Education opportunities to learn about the common haematological conditions and their treatments
Learn about and participate in the administration of a wide variety of blood products
Observe the administration and safe handling of chemotherapy
Care for patients undergoing a variety of investigative and interventional treatments such as bone marrow biopsy, insertion of hickman lines and vertoblasty
Experience caring for patients with acute sepsis and/or disease or treatment related symptoms and treatments
Participation in complex discharge planning for end of life patients
Develop management skills in ward administration
Have the opportunity to spend time with the haemophilia nurse specialist, clinical nurse specialist and Day Area staff
Develop knowledge and skills in complex pain management in patients with cancer
End of life care 
Preparation for practice Be aware of University theory in cancer care, blood transfusion and haempoeisis
IV infusion
Drug administration
